Learning from the One who knew Him best

We kicked off our We Believe series, which I’m really pumped about! This week we dug into God the Father, but took a different angle.  We learned about God the Father from the One who knew Him the best, his son Jesus.  Not only was Jesus a picture of the Father, but He gave us all kinds of information and insight into what the Father is like.

I know that this Father figure stuff is tough for a lot of people.  So, let’s move away from the projection of earthly fathers onto our Heavenly Father, and lean into the picture that Jesus gave about our Heavenly Father.  If you missed it, you can watch it here, starting Tuesday.

Let's try this out for an exercise this week: take each of those five characteristics that we learned about, pray through each of them, and ask Him to help you see and understand more clearly.

Encouraged. Compelled. Convicted.

New Voices was a great success, and here’s why:

• We had 5 godly young men whom God has called and who spoke from their hearts. 
• We were encouraged, compelled, and convicted to be Found people who Find people.  Let’s make sure we’re all after our One in 2012 … and God will be glorified!
• You...the Prairie Lakers who prayed, encouraged, and showed up.  Thank you!

At every campus this weekend, we talked about how found people find people, and once again, we talked about One for One.  Do not spend another day without taking a step with your One.

All of the messages will be online starting Tuesday, so take the opportunity to watch and be challenged by some of the other New Voices that were at another campus.

I'm PUMPED!

We’re doing something different this weekend at Prairie Lakes, and it’s going to be AWESOME!

We believe God has uniquely positioned us to raise up new leaders into full-time ministry.  It's a responsibility we don't take lightly.  Because it is such a part of who we are as a church, we're bringing some of those New Voices to you this weekend.  

And I can tell you this:  they are ready!  I’ve worked with them from the initial prep meetings to today’s practice run-through – and every one of these messages is great.  I wish I could be at all 5 services this weekend…that’s how much you’re going to enjoy this!

This weekend is about reaching Iowa with Iowa people.

Because of that, each "New Voice" will be teaching on our One For One mandate — that Found People Find People.  It's going to be so good, you may want to come to church TWICE!

When it's your fault...

Hey, Prairie Lakes!  We just finished up our Waiting series, and it was really great! It was fun to make that journey through the Old Testament characters, and discover how to wait well. There were many people across our campuses who took significant steps over the last few weeks. Praise God for that! If you missed any part of this series, you can catch them here.

As we talked about this weekend, know that helping someone through a self-inflicted waiting room, like Jonah, is an act of service on your part. Remember how to pray for people in the waiting room, and remember the biggest battle – helping them to understand the true character of God.
